Thank you for taking a moment to learn about me. I’m the pastor of Central Oaks Community Church in Royal Oak, MI. My wife and I moved here in 2013. My name is Jacob Riggs.

I studied Bible and music at Welch College in Gallatin, TN, and also received an MDiv from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. I had the opportunity to work in Bible curriculum publishing and local church music ministry in Nashville for 5 years before I started preaching and teaching God’s Word for the past 5 years at Central Oaks.

If you’re wondering about my beliefs, then know my views of the Bible are conservative. Our statement of faith at Central Oaks is a good start if you want specifics.

I’m grateful for anyone to share any content from this blog via social media that you find helpful. If not, no worries.

I also am happy to correspond with anyone via email about something I’ve written. Comments are closed, so just use the “Contact” feature and all will be well.

I enjoy writing and God has used some of it to help others follow Jesus. While I’m not a professional, I hope this can be an avenue for more of that.

My goal is to share parts of my walk with Christ as a pastor in an appropriately vulnerable way–the hidden parts that Christ sees and still loves me through. I hope you would see that Christ loves you and invites you to come to Him and show Him (and others!) the hidden parts of your life, whether you’re a “professional Christian” like me or just a volunteer one. I pray you would read and leave knowing everything is going to be OK if you are in Christ, that Jesus is alive, and Satan is fighting a war he’s already lost.

Christ be praised, and may you be strengthened by His power. Thanks again for taking a moment to read.
